The UNE-EN 15713:2024 standard provides recommendations and requirements for the procedures, processes and performance monitoring to be implemented for the management and control of the physical destruction of confidential and sensitive material, ensuring it is destroyed securely.
It is useful for anyone who processes this type of material on behalf of others and covers several scenarios:
- On site: using mobile equipment at the place of use.
- Off site: transport followed by destruction using the equipment of a destruction facility.
- Use of equipment at the data controller's site.
The standard includes two extensive Regulatory Annexes: A with destruction result tables and B on the secure destruction process.
Recording the process from collection through to destruction, subcontracting, company personnel (confidentiality agreement), collection and transport of confidential and sensitive material, storage and conservation of confidential and sensitive material at the destruction facility, etc., are some of the topics discussed in the standard.
