The new UNE 420001 standard establishes the requirements and best practices of a business management and advisory service, provided by self-employed professionals, consultancies, agencies and professional offices to comply with legal requirements in tax, labour, accounting or commercial matters.
The services described in the standard are aimed at individuals, self-employed workers and all types of organizations such as micro-enterprises, SMEs, large companies, associations, third-sector organizations (NGOs, foundations, professional associations), owners' communities, state-owned companies, multinationals or others that may be identified.
The business consultancy must ensure its customers comply with legal obligations with government agencies, which is a challenge as laws are constantly updated.
It also acts as a link between the government and the citizen to reduce situations of non-compliance, and to facilitate increasingly efficient and streamlined procedures put in place by authorities.
This standard aims to promote excellence in the service provided, offer maximum efficiency and transparency, and minimize the problems resulting from regulatory differences throughout the country and the lack of a specific regulation, which gives rise to a very heterogeneous group in terms of training and qualifications. It will also help reduce potential malpractice in consultancy by non-professionals who could cause reputational harm to this group.
