Recently published, the UNE 62425: 2024 standard defines the technical specifications guaranteed by the procedure of construction of double-walled bottoms (non-inspectable base) in vertical axle air tanks manufactured in situ of single-walled steel.
The standard covers vertical axis tanks of any capacity for storing liquid petroleum products at room temperature and atmospheric pressure.
Due to the mechanical resistance required in the double-walled bottoms, it only considers rigid GRP interior cladding as defined in Chapter 6 of Standard UNE-EN 13160-7.
The standard includes the stages of the construction process, quality control, installation of permanent and automatic leak detection systems in interstitial space, final verification and marking of the transformed tank.
