UNE-EN 1300:2024: requirements for high security locks

The new UNE-EN 1300 standard specifies the requirements for high-security locks (HSL) in terms of reliability, resistance to theft and tampering, together with testing methods. It also includes a scheme for classifying HSL, based on their degree of resistance to theft and unauthorized opening.

It applies to both mechanical and electronic HSL. For electronic locks used in a distributed system, it refers to UNE-EN 17646:2023 (classification of high-security locks based on their resistance to unauthorized opening).
The following benefits may be included, but are not mandatory:
- A recognized code to avoid altering the base code 
- A recognized code to deactivate time functions
- Integration of alarm components or functions
- Resistance to acid attacks
- Resistance to X-rays
- Resistance to explosives
- Time functions

At the end of the standard, seven annexes are provided to help with its implementation, including:
- Annex A (Regulatory). Parameters for the installation and operating instructions
- Annex C (Informative). Sample manufacturer's declaration
