The new standard UNE-EN 13486 specifies the verification procedure for temperature recorders and thermometers for measuring the ambient or internal temperature of products between -80°C and +85°C and intended for use in the transport, storage and distribution of temperature-sensitive products.
This document cancels and replaces its 2001 version. Below, we highlight some of the main changes in this new edition:
- Improvement of the object and field of application by defining adapted temperature ranges and extending it to more temperature-sensitive products in accordance with UNE-EN 12830:2019 and UNE-EN 13485:2002.
- Inclusion of a new methodology in Chapter 6 to take into account new time synchronisation technologies
- Addition of Chapter 7 for the foundational test of cloud-based SaaS loggers for storage and visualisation
- Updating and clarification of Chapter 8 on the expression of results
- Inclusion of Annex C as a guide to the verification process
- Inclusion of Annex D as a guide for determining expanded uncertainty
